The Sons of Perdition Series

Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, to all who were carried away captive, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon. (1)

INT. Babylon- At The Break of Dawn

Opening scenes before the Throne of God in the heavens (2) kneeling down in prayer alone in the room at the break of dawn. Blinds are drawn up, revealing the darkness of the winter morning at the precipice of spring. The stars drawn up and hidden behind the cloudy skies.

God:

You will not have this one, you will have another one. I will not give him to you but someone else

God:

(Pause)

He is just a simulation of punishment for your sins against your mother. That you did not keep my command to honour  your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land. (3)

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. (4)

Me:

But you Promised Lord. Why give me hope if there is no hope. Why did you declare believe in the Lord and you will be saved, you and your house (5) if I was only given a family to suffer and perish as one more broken disposed family in this world.

God:

Because you left My presence, you turned your back to Me and chose the world. You forsook Me. You didn't have Faith to persevere, to believe. This Promise is for those who remain faithful not those who forsake the Lord, who go out from My presence.

God:

(Reminiscing, with a sigh)

Like Naomi, she left the Promised land, she left Isreal during the famine, her and her family (6). They chose to put their Faith in the strength of their own arms and departed. Outside My protection choosing to replace their Faith in Me to put their Faith in what the other lands could offer them. Security, provision, peace and safety (7). They did not want to wait for My deliverance nor did they seek My face or call upon Me (8).

God:

(Coming back to Himself from the memory)

Therefore outside My protection. Outside My advice, My command to remain with Me, to abide in Me and My Words (9). Outside of this is to experience and face the consequences of departing from Me. Of unbelief. Of giving up... You make Yourself become a captive of My enemy; sin, death and suffering and the one who is readily waiting to execute this warrant of arrest, this judgement upon those who turn back and forsake the Lord is the devil, Lucifer that fallen angel (10).

God:

(with a stern tone)

Satan has no part in the Eternal life I have prepared for those who are faithful for those who believe and have Faith in Me. The devil has no portion therefore he inflicts his wrath (10) with great force and envy upon My creation and those who despise My salvation whether willingly or in ignorance. Everyone has a choice and will reap the fruit of their choices. In the end whether Eternal life or eternal death.

God:

(remembering the testimonies of old again)

Naomi lost out and reaped the consequence of her unfaithfulness by the reaper of offenders, the sorrows of life. Ruth who did not know any better continued the story of Naomi and brought new hope and joy to Naomi in that she was faithful in returning to Me when all was lost. She remembered Me. Once again I could hold her in My embrace and take care of her using the new story that I began in her daughter in law, in Ruth.

Keeping mercy for thousands (11*), and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished (11)

God:

(with a sigh of affection, love and care)

I am always waiting and ready to heal and restore that which becomes broken and destroyed (12) because of the consequences of sin and disobedience to be restored into the things I have laid out for you, for the plans (13) I have for your good, if you keep the Faith, if you believe.

God:

(concerning look of a Father advising a child)

When you choose for yourself to do contrary to My advice you give permission to My enemy to execute judgment as he deems. You give him this power in your disobedience, in you turning your back to Me you face your front to the abyss of sorrows he has ready and laid out for all those who choose to forsake Me, just as he did in the Garden.

God:

(with care and affection again)

I am always ready with arms open wide; open to receive you again like the prodigal son when you repent and return to My embrace, to My presence. The place where My name abides. To receive all those who seek Me with all their heart (14).

Me:

(insistent, not yet resolved)

And what about the captives? They were in captivity but You told them while they waited in their captivity for the consequences of their sins and departing from You to follow the gods of the other nations that they should build houses, plant gardens and eat of its fruit and seek the peace of the place they were brought captive (15) in Babylon.

By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion. (16)

Me:

That after the captivity has been endured You would return them if they obey and submit to the captivity planting, building, reaping and waiting on You (15).

Me:

(Paused and frustrated)

Does this captivity have to be for death and destruction also? Is not the captivity simply to endure this foreign land while planting and building until we are stablished again so that we may return to You? Have I only been sent here to be destroyed and ashamed. Can it not be for life and Your Salvation?

God:

(Patiently with a sigh)

Perhaps but death can still come at any moment.

Me:

(insistent)

Is there no hope?

God:

(Lighted up in awe)

Yes, there is My Son, Jesus. He intercedes for you and all who call upon Him and believe in Him. He has delivered you from the sentence of death (17). It is yes to His Promises and Amen (18). He is also able and He is willing.

God:

(with seriousness and care)

But on one condition. You must be faithful to Him. Believe in Him and Trust in Him. He too is limited to the unbelieving to show Himself strong and a mighty God able to save.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. (19)

God:

The writing on the wall may be written against you. The Program (20) of death, the sentence of death because of sin and forsaking the Lord. But He has given you a new writing a new covenant written by His blood. By His Sacrifice on the cross. That as He lives and overcame death you too can come out of this grave. You too can live because of Him. Because He lives you too can live(21). That whoever believes in Him shall not perish but will have everlasting life (22).

Me:

(a moment of intuition brings an epiphany)

The Justified by Jesus shall live by faith in Jesus (23).

And this is the work of God that you BELIEVE in Him whom He sent (24)

Just as it happened to the Canaanite woman. She too had a similar conversation with our Lord Jesus Christ when she also had the irreversible news, that her daughter was severely demon possessed. Hopeless at the feet of Jesus she begged for His help; as she believed that He was able having heard of His great works. She too was unworthy, “send her away, for she cries out after us.” But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”(25) Yet because of this Canaanite woman's Faith, a woman supposedly undeserving, unworthy, cast out, to persevere and believe in the work of Him whom the Lord has sent for our Salvation for our deliverance. She too was Justified by Him. Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your Faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (25)

Yet we must not forget that He is our Exceedingly Great Reward (26) and our defence. That sometimes The Program (20) may turn out against us like Job and Naomi but if we keep the Faith and not harden our hearts, not to give up or turn our backs on Him; as with Ruth He will be our Redeemer (20) and Exceedingly Great Reward. Not the glory of this world and all that it has to offer because He is the God of our Salvation.

Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; ...Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. (27)
