The Axe: The Angel of Death

Chronicles of The Axe

Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, Or the golden bowl is broken... (1).

The Angel of death is apart of Gods work. God's work of the planting and reaping of the souls that pass through the earth to Eternal life or eternal death (i). From the day of birth to the day of death.  The day of death (is better) than the day of one’s birth; Better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men; And the living will take it to heart (2). Angels with the charge of faith to save and some with the charge to escort the soul from amongst the living. At a time when Gods people were sinning immensely, it became a time to glean the land from the infestation of evil, to glean the souls.

In what way? Death. Death is the Axe from the living to the dead. In this given time, God allowed David to sin (3), He allowed the inclination that He saw that was in His servant, hidden from the eyes of men but not the Lord. The inclination of Pride. So that at a given time it caused him to stumble when he acted presumptuously in numbering the people acclaiming the strength of the nation to the strength of man and will power. Rather than the strength and Faith that comes from God.

Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes... Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. (4)

His unrighteousness in a moment of time to sin against the Lord, exposing the hidden Pride that was still in him, the opening of the grave revealing his Pride and self sufficiency; was the judgement hand of God upon His people to glean His vineyard (5). But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust who inflicts wrath? (I speak as a man.) Certainly not! For then how will God judge the world? (6), Davids mistake was the righteous judgement of God, using the mistake of David to put the people in order for their own sins, to glean the land. Davids' sin, Davids' error and mistake was the hand of God, the Judges gavel to sentence this judgement, this reaping of the sin of David upon the people who had also been in sin against the Lord in that time. In order to glean the land, clean up the land from the things that were not right before Him, things that were unjust, things that displeased Him as He looked down at what the people were doing. And when the angel stretched out His hand over Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD relented from the destruction, and said to the angel who was destroying the people, “It is enough; now restrain your hand.” And the angel of the LORD was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. (7)

God is a God of Purpose. Even to the smallest details of life and death. His is the Kingdom the power and the glory forever (8). He is a gardener, a shepherd and Lord. The tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut off (9)And we are His vineyard. The Axe is laid at the root of the tree (10). To prune or to cut off.

Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, Or the golden bowl is broken, Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, Or the wheel broken at the well. Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it. (1)

To Prune if there is recognition, acknowledgement and sincerity in order to change and renew ourselves to a better path. To cut off if there is no more life, if there is no more faith and no sincerity... In this case; the Deceiver, the hypocrite, the pretentious. There is no hope for the deceiver. The deceiver is like the fig tree appearing to have fruits but it is a lie, a deceit and so like the fig tree that Jesus cursed (11), so is the deceiver accursed because they appear to be what they are not so are the accursed of the Lord. What can the Lord do with what appears to be something it is not. Not that He wants to curse anyone it is just a natural consequence. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.” (12). What appears to be what it is not is accursed because it does not come to the light, it loves the darkness (13) of its hidden agendas and its hidden ways. What is false and a lie is accursed. As the devil is accursed and already condemned so is all that is as he is, he is a liar and the father of it (14) as he is so are his children those who are in his image and likeness of falsehood and pretence have his same destination when the Axe comes to uproot.

Jesus confronted such who were as the fig tree appearing to have fruits and did not. Those who were accursed and were unable to bear the fruit of sincerity and Truth. Those who were a white washed tomb full of dead men bones. The Lord came to heal, to save, to restore but how can He help that which is unable to bear the fruit of sincerity. Yet He left it in His word the Way, the Truth and the Life so that those who believe in His Word and its convictions might be saved. The Word of God and its testimony from Eden to the final judgment is the Way for the accursed to come out of the grave as it is opened up through problems and Offences (15) revealing our true state giving the opportunity to choose life again in mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity (16).

The Fruitless Tree= Deceit

Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it (17)

The Lord opens the grave when sin and unrighteousness is confronted and exposed through our own Offences (15). When problems and confrontations come to show us what is truly inside of us through our reactions and the conscience and posture of our image that convicts us. This is what He did when He tried to help the Pharisees, to confront them. Trees that were just for an appearance but had no fruits worthy of repentance... Sincerity. The grave was literally opened when Jesus resurrected from the grave and it was reported to them the Truth of the resurrection. Yet in their insincerity, falsehood and deceit they paid the soldiers even to report a lie of the events that had happened to deny the resurrection (16). Such are the pretentious dealings of the deceiver, the fig tree appearing to have fruits when there is none, the fruit of sincerity. This one is accursed and cannot be helped because this one is a coward and is not courageous enough to confront the true state of their soul and its eternal destination if they are not sincere... unless they repent which is to be sincere. Recognition and acknowledgment.

Without it the accursed is just one more son of perdition. This is as one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit. How can one be forgiven of their sins if they first do not recognise it, acknowledge it, expose it to the light (17) and confront it. Whilst it remains hidden in the darkness of the heart of the accursed, how can it be healed by the light. This is to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of light and Truth. The Holy Spirit is the Truth. The Holy Spirit is the Word of God sharper than a two edged sword (18). The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment (19). What blasphemes the Holy Spirit is insincerity for it is False and sincerity is Truth. It blasphemes because it denies the Truth, the Spirit of God, the Word of God and what it confronts that is in us. The deceiver, the accursed hides behind the lie from the Truth that sets us free when we look into the Word of God that convicts us of who we truly are from the Garden of Eden to the final Judgement. There is nothing new under the sun (20)So it is with the countless testimonies and occurrence of events recorded in the Word of God since the Garden, even the events that happened in heaven; for our reproof, edification, forewarning and preparation of things to come.

Then he instructed me, “Do not seal up the prophetic words in this book, for the time is near. (21)

I have many times had these confrontations and observed in others what I too experienced. That at first when the evil that is within us is revealed and exposed through our reactions, we are usually not convicted in that instance. Only after some time and thought we come to reflect our actions and reactions that we are convicted of our wrongs. But it is in this moment of silence and gathering our thoughts that the Spirit of God visits us and whispers to our soul, to our conscience that indeed we were wrong. We made a mistake. In that moment of accountability is the action of the Holy Spirit to convict us and grant us this gift of repentance when we acknowledge our own errors. Although it is as it says a gift. A gift to accept or to deny. How do we deny the gift? The gift is offered when we see our mistakes but if we are simply remorseful sad but do not confront it by confessing to the one we hurt, or taking an action or demonstration towards the right path of healing and forgiveness, then in the end we reject this gift as it does not produce in us the action needed for reconciliation, accountability and the turning unto a new path, unto life.

A contrast we can observe between Judas and Peter. Peter and Judas both sinned and betrayed the Lord Jesus. Judas sold Him for 30 silver coins and led the soldiers to His arrest. Peter followed Him and denied Him before all. However looking closer we can see that the intentions of the two was also a deciding factor. Where Judas intentions was truly to hurt the Lord Jesus, to betray. Peters intentions was to help and support following Him after the arrest. Though in a moment of weakness he errored in lying in order to save himself out of fear but his intentions were true though he failed. Judas intentions was smeared by the curse of the deceiver. He betrayed with a kiss of premeditation and an evil intention. Peter's denial was with the error of weaknesses in him susceptible to men.

Yet in that moment their graves were opened. Where Judas only felt remorse for what he did, Peter truly repented. Peter acknowledged what he did, he was accountable and returned to the other disciple even with the shame of what he did. Judas however felt guilt, returned the coins but instead of confronting to whom he truly betrayed, his peers and return as Peter did, instead of being accountable, he gave up his life (22). He did not Rule over the guilt (23).

And David’s heart condemned him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done; but now, I pray, O LORD, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.” (24)

When we look into the Word of God that convicts us of who we truly are and our intentions. Without this fruit of sincerity we deny it, we ignore it, we despise it, we blaspheme. For we call the Truth that convicts us a lie. The Holy Spirit grants the gift of repentance to the heart that is sincere. Then in order to accept that gift we need to practice true repentance and not only guilt in order to follow through with accountability. The heart that is sincere is the opening of the grave and the gift of repentance is fulfilled through accountability. So that the heart that sees the opening of the grave, the dead men bones of lies, falsehood and deceit may come out of the grave with the help of the Spirit of God, the Word of God and its guidance supported by that which the Lord instituted, the church that facilities this support and spiritual guidance. This one will enter the land of Isreal, the kingdom of God, repentance and the Eden that is formed inside of us.
