Guilt!

'If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should RULE over it.”'(1)

The sin that lies at the door is GUILT. When we do not do well we feel guilty and its DESIRE is for us. Guilt comes from the ACCUSER the devil who wants to take us to prison of eternal torment and condemnation. Guilt condemns us. But Jesus did not come to condemn but to SAVE and He is at the door of all our hearts knocking (2), now after becoming our "High Priest" (3) and SAVIOUR. Nonetheless, God COMMANDS' us to "RULE over it" (1) that is... to "he who overcomes" (4)

"You have need for ENDURANCE..." (5)

"I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." (6)

Don't Give Up!

GUILT, the ACCUSER, condemnation, its' desire is for us to GIVE UP and fall into perdition. As it happened to Cain, King Saul and Judas. Guilt either leads us to try to resolve the problem from our OWN strength, to cover the guilt of our trespasses by killing our neighbour as Cain did to Abel. This covering of our guilt, when we try to resolve it by our own strength and not the HELP of God, becomes hypocrisy. When we try to cover our guilt, it is like Adam and Eve in the Garden when they committed the mistake of disobeying God, Adam tried to cover his error, his guilt by blaming God and Eve (7) Eve also tried to cover her mistake by blaming the serpent (8). By trying to cover our GUILT when we fail, we commit hypocrisy by blaming and condemning others to hide behind our OWN faults. Hypocrisy BLINDS us from our own nakedness, how exposed we are. This act of hypocrisy in blaming and condemning others when we are in error, is like the action of murdering our neighbour. We do not kill them physically but we kill their SPIRIT, we kill their reputation when we pass it on to others, we put an extra weight upon them more than they already have if they are guilty but if they are innocent its as though we were crucifying the Lord Jesus Himself who was condemned on account of the burden of guilt that the religious leaders carried and sought to free themselves by their OWN strength by condemning to death the Son of God.

'I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (9

So a good tip would be to refrain from cursing, blaming or condemning anyone as you never know if that person is a child of God so curses may not come upon us in our moment of HYPOCRISY when we ourselves are also not doing well. “Do not judge, or you too will be judged."(i) The only CONSEQUENCE of trying to save our life, by attempting to cover ourselves from our OWN mistakes, the sin of GUILT that lies at the door is by the shedding of the blood of our neighbour. Not physically necessarily but spiritually. Even though, the outward manifestation of GUILT can also lead to the physical shedding of blood, by murder. But if we choose to LOSE our life, not defending ourselves or blaming and condemning but rather trusting in God, finding courage to SURRENDER to the injustice like Abel and even Jesus, we save our neighbour and consequently, ourselves. Because when we defend ourselves we also kill but when we lose our life, our opinion, arrogance, our rights we save our neighbour and God is able to justify us, bring healing and RECONCILIATION that sustains our COMMUNITIES and FAMILIES.

Another consequence of GUILT that leads us to perdition, to give up in the end by leaving Gods presence which can represent for us today leaving a neighbourhood, our community when things don't go well, leaving a job, education after so many mistakes, the guilt and frustration of our past failures calls for us to QUIT. When we do not do well GUILT causes us to QUIT. Even the guilt of leaving a home, a spouse, giving up on a marriage, a dream, a loved one due to our many errors of not getting it RIGHT, the accumulation of GUILT is the sin that lies at the door, this frustration has seen the end of many who GAVE UP. Of course this excuses the argument of when an environment or person is not a good place to be, this is also a foreseeable circumstance of deciding for change, equally as significant behind the driving and underlying result of GUILT. Guilt is just another cause to take into PERSPECTIVE when the drastic actions of QUITTING and GIVING UP follows.

Don't try to fix it, move on and do better next time

Guilt, Dont give up

To sum up... GUILT has two agendas:

To Kill To Give Up
Your neighbour Your life
Your colleagues In your community
Your family Your dreams
etc. etc.

Suicide

Is the summary of guilt- kill oneself in order to save oneself from all the suffering and pain of a lifetime of guilt and/or other problems. Trying to resolve the internal issues by our OWN stength by murdering ourselves and giving up on our life rather than trusting God to SAVE and heal us.

Mass murders

Also a spawn of guilt, to kill others then to GIVE UP on our own life to kill ourselves. Again resolving the issue with our own stength and might rather than seeking the HELP of God.

Vengeance

Another spawn of guilt. The person is so burdened with guilt without the forgiveness of God that they want to condemn and kill the object of their vengence. And remember this death is not only the killing of the body but of the soul and reputation as well that meets out vengence to our neighbour.

Blame

This spawn of guilt is due to the burden of guilt we carry so again we try to cover or relieve the heaviness of it by finding a scapegoat, our neighbour. The PERSON who complains the most usually is the one who has the BIGGEST problem. Instead of being ACCOUNTABLE and looking inside of themselves, taking responsibility and bearing the consequences, we tend to go for the BLAME card, the scapegoat.

When we don't do well GUILT is the sin that lies at the door and its desire is for us... (1)

GUILT is the ACCUSER, the devil who comes to ARREST our souls, our PEACE. But God COMMANDS us to "RULE over it "(1). How? How do we rule over this sin that lies at the door when we do not do well? How to rule over GUILT? FORGIVENESS. By forgiving ourselves and others creating healing and RECONCILIATION. Moving on, without looking back to our mistakes or errors, not trying to fix it or resolve the problem using our own strength. Acknowledging and accepting the consequences of our mistakes and offence. REPENTANCE: never again! LEARN from our errors and OFFENCES, transform (10) our mindset towards that mistake with the help of the Word of God (10).

After king Saul did not do well, his GUILT led him to start many wars and killing many people, even people who were innocent like Gibeah (11), which later brought the wrath of God upon Isreal for the blood he spilled. Even to pursue to kill young David because he did not resolve his GUILT before God. He kept pursuing, hunting, warring until the final great battle he chose to engage in, cost him his life. He led the people to war in his GUILT without the direction of God and led the people to die and at his failure because the injustice was within him, the final blow of GUILT led him to GIVE UP and take his own life. If he had acknowledged his mistake forgiven himself, moved on and asked for Gods FORGIVENESS his end would be to lose his reward but keep his crown of SALVATION.

'If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. '(12)

If we give in to GUILT the devil the ACCUSER wins

But if we overcome GUILT, rule over it (1), forgive ourselves and keep pushing forward... God WINS and will be glorified with the peace and HEALING that will exude from our SOULS. FORGIVE ourselves and move on. Don't touch, don't interfere. Don't try to save our own lives, defending, condemning, blaming, vengeance etc. Give glory to God by allowing Him to HEAL and restore us from our mistakes. Hate what we have done, not by remorse but by the RENEWING of our mind through the help of the Word of God so we won't fall into that mistake again due to the nature of our INCLINATIONS. Through PERSEVERANCE, despise the shame of GUILT. The Justified by Jesus shall live by faith in Jesus. He justifies us from our offences when we choose to believe, SURRENDER the frustration to Him and do not use our OWN strength. A DIFFICULT task for us mortal beings, but as we take each step towards this TRANSFORMATION God will in due time reward us with His Helper, His Spirit (13) to help us along this journey called life unto ETERNAL life, so we too may hear...

'“Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. '(14)
